Job Overview:
Transam Carriers Inc. is seeking Truck Drivers to join their team in Concord, ON. The Truck Drivers will be responsible for transporting goods and materials using straight or articulated trucks. They will address customers’ complaints or concerns, ensure the safety and security of the cargo, perform vehicle inspections, and conduct preventive maintenance. The role may involve long-haul travel and will require efficient interpersonal skills, excellent communication, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
The Truck Driver’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Addressing customers’ complaints or concerns with professionalism in customer service.
- Arranging travel itineraries and making reservations.
- Loading and unloading goods.
- Operating and driving straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
- Overseeing the condition of the vehicle and inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
- Performing brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs.
- Conducting pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and overseeing all aspects of the vehicle.
- Performing preventive maintenance.
- Receiving and relaying information to central dispatch.
- Recording cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Tarping and ensuring the safety and security of the cargo.

Transportation/Travel Information:
- The candidate should be willing to travel for extended periods and overnight.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
- The work environment may be physically demanding, involving handling heavy loads and repetitive tasks.
- Overtime may be required.
- The candidate must be able to sit for extended periods and handle weight of more than 45 kg (100 lbs).

- The candidate should be able to operate tractor-trailer trucks.
Communication Systems Experience:
- The candidate should be able to operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment.
