Overview:
1215087 Alberta Ltd is seeking dedicated individuals to join their team as Truck Drivers in Sherwood Park, AB. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials using straight or articulated trucks. You will also oversee the vehicle’s condition, perform inspections, and ensure safe and efficient transportation.
Responsibilities:
As a Truck Driver at 1215087 Alberta Ltd, your tasks will include:
- Addressing customers’ complaints or concerns in a professional manner.
- Arranging travel itineraries and making reservations.
- Loading and unloading goods.
- Obtaining special permits and required documents for international cargo transportation.
- Operating and driving straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
- Overseeing the condition of the vehicle and inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
- Performing brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs.
- Conducting pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
- Performing preventive maintenance on the truck.
- Recording cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
Credentials:
To be eligible for this position, candidates should have the following certifications and licenses:
- Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
- Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
Experience:
While previous experience is an asset, the employer is willing to provide training to suitable candidates.
Documentation Knowledge:
Truck Drivers should be familiar with various documentation, including accident or incident reports, bill of lading, driver logbook, inspection reports, maintenance and repair reports, and trip reports.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
Truck Drivers should have attention to detail, be able to handle heavy loads, and work in physically demanding conditions.
Weight Handling:
Truck Drivers may be required to handle up to 23 kg (50 lbs) of weight.
