Overview:
CHELA TRANSPORT LTD is seeking a Pipefitter to join their team in Surrey, BC. This is a full-time position with a salary of $36.00 per hour. The successful candidate should have a secondary school graduation certificate and 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant work experience.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
The job may involve working in confined spaces, wet/damp environments, and in noisy conditions. The work setting may vary and include various locations in the commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential sectors.
Responsibilities:
As a Pipefitter, your tasks may include:
- Connecting piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors, and control equipment
- Testing systems for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipment
- Cutting openings for pipes in walls, floors, and ceilings using hand or power tools
- Measuring, cutting, threading, and bending pipes to the required shape and size
- Removing and replacing worn components and reactivating systems
- Determining piping system requirements and pipe sizing
- Reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems and water supply networks
Supervision:
You may be supervising 3-4 people in this role.
Additional Information:
The candidate must be bondable and willing to undergo a criminal record check. A valid driver’s license and own vehicle are required.
Work Conditions:
The work environment may be fast-paced, with tight deadlines and physically demanding tasks. The job may involve handling heavy loads, standing for extended periods, and performing bending, crouching, and kneeling activities.
