Overview:
PUNJAB LINK NEWSPAPER LTD. is currently seeking a talented News Photographer to join their team in Surrey, BC. This is a full-time position with flexible working hours. As a News Photographer, you will be responsible for capturing compelling and impactful images to be featured in multimedia/new media products.
Responsibilities:
As a News Photographer, your tasks will include:
- Adapting existing photographic images and creating new digitized images for multimedia/new media products.
- Determining picture composition and making technical adjustments to equipment while photographing subjects.
- Operating computers to manipulate photographic images and scanning photographs to transfer them to computers.
- Studying the requirements of each assignment and selecting the appropriate camera, film, lighting, and background accessories.
- Using airbrushing, computer software, or other techniques to retouch negatives.
- Utilizing delicate instruments, such as optical microscopes attached to cameras.
Requirements:
Education:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
Experience:
- 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in using photographic equipment and computer software for image manipulation.
- Creativity and an eye for detail to capture impactful images.
- Technical expertise in adjusting camera settings, lighting, and composition.
- Ability to study assignment requirements and choose appropriate equipment and techniques.
