Job Overview:
ANS TRUCKING LTD is seeking Long Haul Truck Drivers to join their team in Abbotsford, BC. The Long Haul Truck Drivers will be responsible for transporting goods and materials over long distances, ensuring the safety and security of the cargo, and performing necessary inspections and adjustments on the vehicle.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
The Long Haul Truck Driver’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Loading and unloading goods.
- Operating and driving straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
- Overseeing the condition of the vehicle and inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
- Performing brake adjustments.
- Conducting pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and overseeing all aspects of the vehicle.
- Receiving and relaying information to central dispatch.
- Recording cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Ensuring safety and security of the cargo, including tarping and handling dangerous goods.
Credentials:
The Long Haul Truck Driver should possess the following certificates, licenses, memberships, and courses:
- Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
- Driver’s License (Class 1 or A).
Experience and Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate should have a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- They should have 1 to less than 7 months of driving experience.
Documentation Knowledge:
The candidate should have knowledge of driver logbooks and inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip).
