- Coordinating, assigning, and reviewing work
- Establishing work schedules and procedures and coordinating activities with other work units or departments
- Hiring and training staff in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies
- Requisitioning materials and supplies
- Resolving work-related problems and preparing and submitting progress and other reports
- Taking, canceling, and changing room reservations
- Registering arriving guests and assigning rooms
- Providing information on hotel facilities and services
- Processing group arrivals and departures
- Processing guests’ departures, calculating charges, and receiving payments
- Investigating and resolving complaints and claims
