Overview:
PBS Building Supplies Ltd. is seeking Handlers for Materials to join their team in Mississauga, ON. This is a full-time position with a salary of $26.50 per hour. The successful candidate should have a secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience and 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant work experience.
Responsibilities:
As a Handler for Materials, your tasks may include:
- Building pallets
- Loading, unloading, and moving products and materials by hand or with basic material handling equipment
- Shipping orders
- Picking orders and stock
- Weighing materials and goods
- Making labels and attaching them to goods
- Wrapping goods
- Packing and unpacking goods
- Sorting, crating, and stacking goods
- Installing, lashing, and securing goods
- Storing cargo and materials
- Transporting and distributing materials and goods
- Organizing and maintaining inventory
- Operating computerized inventory control systems
Experience and Specialization:
The candidate should have experience with various material handling equipment, including dollies and hand trucks, strapping machines, conveyors, hoists or winches, loaders, and pallet lifters.
Work Conditions:
The job may involve a fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads, and physically demanding tasks. Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure with a large workload are essential.
