Overview:
Royal Star Enterprises Inc. is looking for a Farm Manager to join their team in Kelowna, BC. This is a full-time permanent position with a weekly schedule of 40 hours. The start date is to be determined. The Farm Manager will be responsible for managing the overall operation of the farm, organizing and coordinating planting, cultivating and crop harvesting activities, raising and breeding livestock and poultry, and maintaining farm machinery, equipment, and buildings.
Responsibilities:
As a Farm Manager, your tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Managing the overall operation of the farm
- Organizing and coordinating planting, cultivating, and crop harvesting activities
- Raising and breeding livestock and poultry
- Purchasing machinery, livestock, seed, feed, and other supplies
- Determining the amount and kinds of crops to be grown and livestock to be raised
- Establishing marketing programs
- Maintaining financial and production records
- Performing general farm duties
- Recruiting, hiring, and supervising staff and/or volunteers
- Operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment
- Maintaining quality control and production records
- Coordinating and supervising the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers
- Developing work schedules and establishing procedures
- Providing agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, or harvesting
- Supervising and overseeing growing and other crop-related operations
- Ensuring farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
