Job Overview:
Turkuaz Restaurant Limited is seeking to hire three experienced cooks for their restaurant in Bedford, NS. The cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, as well as managing kitchen operations and supervising kitchen staff.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
The cook’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
- Plan menus, determine the size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies.
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure high-quality and safe food preparation.
- Train staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling.
- Order supplies and equipment required for cooking and kitchen operations.
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Clean the kitchen and work areas to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Recruit and hire staff for the kitchen team as needed.
- Organize and manage buffets and banquets when required.
Experience and Specialization:
- 3 years to less than 5 years of relevant experience in cooking.
- Cuisine specialties: Turkish, Mediterranean cuisine.
