Overview:
Columbus Construction & Restoration Ltd. is currently seeking a skilled Carpenter to join their team in Surrey, BC. This is a full-time position offering permanent employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for various carpentry tasks in the construction, renovation, and maintenance of residential buildings and structures.
Responsibilities:
As a Carpenter at Columbus Construction & Restoration Ltd., your tasks will include:
- Preparing layouts in compliance with building codes, using measuring tools.
- Measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, lightweight steel, wood substitutes, and other materials.
- Building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring, and erecting walls and roof systems.
- Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
- Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures in various establishments.
Requirements:
Education: A secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience is required.
Experience: Candidates should have 2 years to less than 3 years of relevant carpentry experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in carpentry techniques and practices.
- Able to use measuring tools accurately to ensure precise layouts.
- Skilled in cutting, shaping, and joining various materials.
- Capable of fitting and installing windows, doors, and hardware.
- Knowledgeable in building foundations, floor beams, walls, and roof systems.
- Familiar with renovation and maintenance tasks in residential buildings.
- Must have efficient interpersonal skills and value ethics and reliability.
