Job Overview:
IN & OUT AUTOS LTD, based in Winnipeg, MB, is seeking an experienced Automotive Mechanic to join their team. The Automotive Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing various mechanical units and components of automotive systems.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
The Automotive Mechanic’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Inspecting and testing mechanical units to identify faults and malfunctions.
- Road testing motor vehicles and testing automotive systems and components.
- Adjusting, repairing, or replacing parts and components of automotive systems.
- Diagnosing faults and malfunctions and confirming findings with the supervisor to determine repair or replacement needs.
- Repairing or replacing mechanical units or components.
- Testing and adjusting repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications.
- Estimating parts and labor costs for repairs.
- Performing scheduled maintenance services.
- Testing and adjusting units to specifications.
- Advising customers on work performed and future repair requirements.
- Completing reports to record problems and work performed.
- Reviewing work orders and discussing work with the supervisor.
- Providing excellent customer service.
Experience and Specialization:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Areas of specialization include engine repair, electrical and electronic systems, diagnostics, alignment, steering and suspension, brake system, hydraulic system, fuel and emission system, ignition and electrical system, standard transmission, engine repair and overhaul, and collision repair.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
The work environment is fast-paced, and the role requires hand-eye coordination and attention to detail. Standing for extended periods may be necessary.
