Overview:
D & E Pork Inc. located in Albany, PE, is seeking Livestock Labourers to join their team. This is a full-time permanent position with a work schedule of 48 hours per week. The employment is expected to start as soon as possible.
Responsibilities:
As a Livestock Labourer, your tasks may include but are not limited to:
- Handling animals, specifically swine
- Monitoring animal health and well-being
- Feeding and tending to animals
- Operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment
- Cleaning stables, barns, barnyards, and pens
- Recognizing and treating certain livestock health problems
- Performing general farm duties
- Carrying out a pasture or pen breeding programs
Requirements:
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this position.
- Experience: Prior experience in livestock farming is an asset.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
- The work environment is fast-paced and may involve tight deadlines.
- The job may require handling heavy loads and is physically demanding.
- The job may involve a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
