Overview:
Sushi Wara, located in Comox, BC, is seeking experienced Line Cooks to join their team. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals and dishes, ensuring food quality, and supervising kitchen operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods according to restaurant standards.
2. Accommodate customers with food allergies or intolerances by preparing dishes accordingly.
3. Plan menus, determine portion sizes, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies.
4. Inspect kitchens and food service areas to maintain cleanliness and food safety standards.
5. Train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling procedures.
6. Order supplies and equipment as needed to maintain kitchen operations.
7. Supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure efficient operations and quality output.
8. Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
9. Clean the kitchen and work areas to maintain a hygienic environment.
10. Manage kitchen operations and ensure smooth functioning.

Experience and Specialization:

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• 2 years to less than 3 years of experience as a Line Cook, preferably in a restaurant setting.
• Specialization in Japanese cuisine is required.

Personal Suitability:

• Team player with the ability to work collaboratively with the kitchen staff.
