Overview:
J J Hardwood Floors Ltd, located in Chestermere, AB, is seeking a Floor Covering Installer to join their team. The position involves inspecting, measuring, and marking surfaces to be covered, measuring, cutting, and fastening underlay and underpadding, installing carpeting and resilient floor coverings, preparing and installing hardwood floors, inspecting and repairing damaged floor coverings, conducting various tests prior to flooring installations, preparing floors for installations, removing existing floor coverings and contaminants, and installing materials on countertops and raised platforms. The ideal candidate should have a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in floor covering installation.
Responsibilities (Tasks):
- Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered.
- Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding.
- Measure, cut, and install carpeting on floors.
- Measure, cut, and install resilient floor coverings.
- Prepare and install hardwood floors.
- Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings.
- Conduct moisture, pH, temperature, and other tests prior to flooring installations.
- Prepare floors for installations.
- Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants.
- Install materials on countertops and raised platforms.
- Install vinyl decking materials.
