Overview:
South Central Montessori Child Care Ltd is currently seeking an Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join their team in Richmond, BC. This is a full-time position with permanent employment. The selected candidate will support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children in a child care centre.
Responsibilities:
As an Early Childhood Educator Assistant, your tasks may include:
- Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
- Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs for children’s development
- Assist in keeping records related to children’s progress and activities
- Engage children in various activities, including storytelling, songs, and crafts
- Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
- Maintain daycare equipment and assist with housekeeping and cooking duties
- Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- Observe children for potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents or supervisors
- Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and address any concerns
- Plan and maintain an environment that ensures the health, security, and well-being of children
Credentials:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- First Aid Certificate
