Job Description:
THE CURRY CAPITAL is seeking skilled Cooks to join our team in Wainwright, AB. As a Cook specializing in Ethnic Foods, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods. This includes preparing special meals for customers with food allergies or intolerances as instructed by the dietitian or chef. You will also be involved in planning menus, estimating food requirements and costs, and inspecting kitchens and food service areas.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods with a focus on Ethnic Foods.
- Plan menus and determine the size of food portions.
- Estimate food requirements and monitor and order supplies.
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas for cleanliness and safety.
- Train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling.
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and work areas.
- Manage kitchen operations efficiently.
Credentials:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- Certificates, licenses, memberships, and courses required:
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
- Safe Food Handling certificate.
- Food Safety Certificate.
Experience:
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in cooking Ethnic Foods.
