Responsibilities:
Kawakubo Sushi Sake Organic, located in Vernon, BC, is seeking skilled Cooks to join our team. As a Cook, you will play a pivotal role in preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods. You will be responsible for planning menus, determining the size of food portions, estimating food requirements and costs, monitoring and ordering supplies, inspecting kitchens and food service areas, training staff in food preparation and handling, maintaining inventory and records, and ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen and work areas. Your expertise will contribute to the successful management of kitchen operations.
Tasks:
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
- Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies.
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas.
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Clean kitchen and work areas.
- Recruit and hire staff.
- Manage kitchen operations.
