Responsibilities of the Baker include:
- Preparing dough for pies, bread, rolls, sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, as well as icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders
- Requisitioning or ordering materials, equipment, and supplies
- Baking mixed dough and batters
- Training staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
- Preparing special orders
- Frosting and decorating cakes and baked goods
- Drawing up production schedules
- Training staff
- Ensuring that the quality of products meets established standards
- Inspecting kitchen and food service areas
- Operating machinery
- Organizing and maintaining inventory
- Overseeing sales and merchandising of baked goods
