Job Overview:
Wind Japanese & Thai in Mississauga, ON, is seeking a Restaurant Assistant Manager to join their team. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating daily restaurant operations.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
The Restaurant Assistant Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Planning, organizing, and directing daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Determining the type of services to be offered and implementing operational procedures accordingly.
- Conducting performance reviews of staff members.
- Costing products and services to maintain profitability.
- Enforcing provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations.
- Monitoring revenues and making adjustments to procedures and prices as needed.
- Ensuring health and safety regulations are followed to maintain a safe working environment.
- Negotiating with clients for catering or use of facilities.
- Participating in marketing plans and their implementation to promote the restaurant.
- Setting staff work schedules and monitoring staff performance.
- Addressing customers’ complaints or concerns and providing excellent customer service.
- Recruiting, training, and supervising staff members.
- Leading and instructing individuals within the team.
Supervision:
- The Assistant Manager will supervise 5-10 people.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
- The work environment is fast-paced with tight deadlines and may involve repetitive tasks and handling heavy loads.
- Attention to detail is essential, and the job may require a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with standing for extended periods.
- The workload may be large, and overtime may be required.

Requirements:
- College/CEGEP education is required.
- 2 years to less than 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
