Requirements for the Web Developer position:

• Language requirement: English
• Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
• Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Responsibilities and tasks of the Web Developer include:

• Consulting with clients to develop and document website requirements
• Preparing mock-ups and storyboards
• Developing website architecture and determining hardware and software requirements
• Sourcing, selecting, and organizing information for inclusion and designing the appearance, layout, and flow of the website
• Creating and optimizing content for the website using a variety of graphics, database, animation, and other software
• Researching and evaluating a variety of interactive media software products
• Conducting tests and performing security and quality controls
• Planning, designing, writing, modifying, integrating, and testing web-related code
• Identifying and communicating technical problems, processes, and solutions
• Preparing reports, manuals, and other documentation on the status, operation, and maintenance of software
• Assisting in the collection and documentation of user’s requirements
• Assisting in the development of logical and physical specifications
• Maintaining existing computer programs by making modifications as required
• Writing, modifying, integrating, and testing software code for e-commerce and other Internet applications
